Eligibility Requirements: Graduates of U.S. programs must show two academic years of acupuncture training plus two academic years of a college level educational program.
Examination Requirements: NCCAOM certification accepted. A new law passed in 2002 now states that acupuncturists do not have to be directly supervised by a medical doctor. However, a referral is necessary and must be in the form of a medical exam regarding the condition of the patient. Doctors can therefore limit the number of treatments they feel necessary. The new law also increased the scope of practice to include tui-na, massage, herbs and moxibustion, which previously weren't allowed.
MD's can practice acupuncture provided they complete a 200 hour CEU training program (I hate the AMA).

Acupuncture Schools Alphabetically
Here is the alphabetical listing of all of the schools which offer some form of Oriental Medical Training. I would love to have a little synopsis of each of these schools, but it is a little too time consuming to go page to page and find out everything. If you check out a site and get a grasp of what type of program they have and some details about it, I would be your best friend if you emailed it to me so I could post it on this list. Schools State
Acupuncture Schools by State
Here is the state by state listing of all of the schools which offer some form of Oriental Medical Training. I would love to have a little synopsis of each of these schools, but it
is a little too time consuming to go page to page and find out everything. If you check out a site and get a grasp of what type of program they have and some details about it, I would
be your best friend if you emailed it to me so I could post it on this list. Also if any of these links are dead do the same. Email:admin@tcmstudent.com
