Welcome to the new tcmstudent.com. For the past 4 years, I've tried to keep this site as informative and thought provoking as possible. I've provided you with some of the building blocks of knowledge in the TCM world, and given you some first steps to realizing if TCM is for you.
The community has taken over, and more is discussed and accomplished on the message boards than in the actual content. Not being one to walk away from a good thing, I wanted to not only continue along that tack, but to provide a unique vessel for them to take it one step further. This is my vision of what this site will be able to do in the future.
Along with myself, I have brought on a few people who will be posting information, factoids, medical snipets and just general TCM related knowledge. Your authors will range from a seasoned acupuncturist, to a newly minted medical doctor with an eye for the alternative.
Our goal, as always, is to keep you informed of the issues in the TCM world, and to be a portal to all the tools and information you need to join the world of Oriental Medicine.

Wow...I was coming by just to check on a point location and here we are with a totally new site. I thought you'd never update :P.
I can't wait to see how you're gonna use the blog portion of the site. If you could post news style updates...like new studies or legislation that would rock.
Glad to see you back in action Steve.
PS...gotta say, hated the green at first, but it's kinda growing on me.

Thanks Chris. Yeah the green was a tough choice and all I did was get guff about it. Eh, the greatness of stylesheets is that I can change it in seconds.
Thanks to everyone who has donated already. I got a mysterious $50 donation from someone and I can only say thanks!!!! I was expecting $3 from most people so this is a pleasant surprise. Keep it coming and the ads stay away for good.
Naturaldoc, our good friend from the boards has joined on as an author, so starting next week look for the news and discussions to start in full. I wanted to give everyone a week just to get used to the new layout. Oh and the boards are back up!

This is my first time here :)
I'm looking into programs nowadays, thinking about starting next year. I looked at the survey, and haven't seen some of the schools I consider. In general, do you not recommend schools that aren't in the survey? I only looked at programs that are accredited or candidate.
Any help will be very much appreciated!

My name is Gye Bennetts and I look after the 5 Element Acupuncture Information Site. This is a non commercial site for those who want to know more about this beautiful style of acupuncture.
I was wondering if you would consider putting a link to my site from the TCM Student site. I have a link to your site on my links page.
Also if you would like me to write something on the 5 Element style for your site I would be most happy to help!
Thanking you and wishing you all the best in you work!

The survey was very limited in the schools it was able to include. There are over 70 schools for OM in the country and I only got enough responses from 21. Please check other schools as I don't even hold to the survey results myself.
