Educational & Examination Requirements.
An applicant must be 18 years old and meet one of the following standards: (in other words either graduate from a school or pass the NCCAOM, not both.)

1. Graduation from a course of training of at least 1,800 hours, including 300 clinical hours, that is:
    (a)Approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission
    (b)Approved by the ACAOM
    (c)Found by the Board to be equivalent to a course approved by the ACAOM;

2. Achievement of a passing score of on an examination that is:
Given by the NCCAOM, or Determined by the Board to be equivalent to the examination given by the NCCAOM;

3. An applicant must also demonstrate proof of proficiency in the written and oral communication of the English language by providing documentary evidence that:
    (a)The applicant has completed at least 60 credits from an English-speaking undergraduate school or English-speaking professional school;
    (b)The applicant has achieved a score of at least 500 on the TOEFL within the 2 years preceding license application and has achieved a passing score on the TSE
    (c)The applicant has passed the NCCAOM or an equivalent exam in English and has achieved a passing score on the TSE.
